This team has been such a blessing for our daughter. The coaches have helped her grow tremendously both on and off the field, teaching skills, confidence, teamwork, and life lessons along the way. The girls are truly a family, always supporting and encouraging one another. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of coaches or teammates and are so thankful to have been part of such a special team.

As a former player, current coach, and parent of three daughters who have all played within the program, I feel uniquely qualified to speak about the experience this organization provides. My family's connection to Downers Grove softball spans decades. I grew up in the program myself, spending five years in the in-house feeder program before advancing to the Rebels travel program. Today, after eleven years of coaching as both an assistant coach and head coach, and watching all three of my daughters begin their softball journeys here, I have experienced the organization from nearly every perspective possible. My older daughters have since gone on to play for other organizations at levels ranging from B-level travel softball to Premier-level PGF competition. Through those experiences, I've learned that every softball organization has strengths and weaknesses. No program is perfect, and a player's experience is often shaped as much by the individual coach and team culture as it is by the organization itself. What has consistently stood out to me about the Rebels is the value they provide and the dedication of the people involved. The Rebels are a nonprofit, 100% volunteer-run organization competing against much larger for-profit programs and nationally operated organizations that often charge significantly higher fees. Despite that, the Rebels continue to provide quality coaching, player development opportunities, competitive schedules, and a family-oriented environment at a cost that remains accessible for many families. While some organizations may offer paid coaches and additional amenities, those costs are often passed directly on to families. The Rebels continue to provide a competitive softball experience while remaining one of the best values in the area. One of the strongest indicators of the experience families have within a program is player retention. From the 2025 season to the 2026 season, 72 of 89 players returned to the Rebels, representing an 80.9% retention rate across seven teams. In youth sports, where families always have options, that level of retention reflects the positive experiences many players and parents have had within the organization. I have also been proud to watch the organization continue to grow and invest in opportunities for its players and families. Over the past two years, the Rebels have worked hard to bring back annual home-hosted tournaments, rebuilding a tradition that benefits both our athletes and the local softball community. The response has been outstanding, with numerous compliments from visiting teams and families regarding the organization, communication, facilities, and overall tournament experience. Highlights have included our 10-team, 10U-exclusive "Ghouls in the Grove" Halloween tournament and this year's second annual "Rebel Rumble," which welcomed 27 teams across four age divisions over three days. These events require tremendous planning, coordination, and volunteer commitment, and they showcase the dedication of the coaches, board members, and families who make this organization successful. Perhaps what I appreciate most is that everyone involved is here because they genuinely care about the players. Coaches, board members, and volunteers invest countless hours behind the scenes to create opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills, build confidence, compete at a high level, and build lifelong friendships. The people involved are not doing this for a paycheck; they do it because they care deeply about the players, the game, and the future of the program. After spending my childhood in Downers Grove softball, coaching within the organization for more than a decade, and watching all three of my daughters begin their softball journeys here, I can confidently say that the Rebels have provided our family with an overwhelmingly positive experience. If you are looking for a travel softball organization that values player development, community, affordability, and competitive opportunities, I would absolutely recommend giving the Downers Grove Rebels a look.

Rebels has been such a fantastic experience for my daughter and family. The coaches care about the kids like their own and focus on developing them as complete players and people. Fundamentals, mental toughness, and team-forst mindset are what they focus on. And even with a sub 2k player fee they still seem to compete with orgs that charge double that. I am so happy my daughter found this team. Not being from DG was never a problem and I am confident the friends my girl has made here will last a very long time.
