Travel Baseball

“Ninth Inning is "pay-to-play" but they seem to be selective on who gets invited to join a team after tryouts. Once your son is on a team, he will love it (so long as your son loves baseball). Your wallet will not love it - I'm pretty sure Ninth Inning is the most expensive program in the metro Atlanta area. BUT they do have good coaches who have played at least college level, two indoor facilities (for bad weather, one of the facilities is small but good enough for BP and training pitchers/catchers) and access to high school fields for weekly out door team practices and clinics. I'm sure the price-to-play reflects their overhead and a goal to be profitable (but I'm guessing). My son has played on many rec leagues, an all-star team, and a different tournament/travel team but he prefers Ninth Inning because he enjoys the "professional" atmosphere. He loves the facilities, team gear, and coaching. Pros- they are organized, do listen to parents, communicate well with families, have indoor and outdoor facilities, can purchase lessons from your team coach so your coach can work with your son individually on specific things he sees in games, organization registers for weekend tournaments well in advance so families can plan accordingly (some exceptions but nothing to complain about), coaches on other Ninth Inning teams can step in as assistant coaches for practices and games if needed, and is not "daddy-ball." And I really like their arm care philosophy - they will not let your son pitch back-to-back games or back-to-back days, even if it means losing a game. Con- very expensive. But if you lead your son to the water and he willing and eagerly drinks, then Ninth Inning is worth it.”

“Bunch of people question their cost but I believe you pay for quality. Indoors facilities are definitely top in the area and they have coaches that truly care about the development of your kid. It's difficult to find a one stop shop around, that is who they are, you are able to find whatever your kid needs in that place. Well organized year with schedules ahead of time so you can plan other activities with your family. I highly recommend it.”
