It is my son's first season playing kid-pitch and he is having a blast! We did coach pitch through NPD last year and I think the additional practices and games are really helping him get a better understanding of the sport without being too much. We dont play on the best fields in town, which is fine, but worth noting. And the practice / game schedule is a little all over the place so it can be tough to avoid a couple conflicts. Looking forward to the rest of the season!

In early years, great instructional league and the coaches I've seen are really into teaching and promoting teamwork and fun. In the world today, a dozen kids won't hop on there bikes to go play at the "Sandlot", this the only place they can learn the game.

For a Rec league it’s fine - kids get to play baseball. It’s not always good ball but it’s playing. We’ve had seasons that have been fantastic and others where we might as well flush $300 down the drain. Junior league (7/8) have very little opportunity for practice as there aren’t enough fields. We’ve had kids not come to any practices and only come to a few games. We have kids who come for a few innings then leave. If commitment from parents/kids isn’t there don’t waste your money. Complaint after complaint is filed and nothing changes. Teams are not evenly distributed for ages/grades. You can tell what teams are favored by those compiling teams.

Excellent program spanning beginner to advanced baseball training. Programs start with whiffle ball for kindergarteners and go into machine pitch at 1st grade and in 2nd grade they transition from machine to kid pitch. After 2nd grade kids have the option to tryout for competitive teams, and if they make it they also have options to play part time travel through little league. If they aren’t as competitive there is also a rec league at those age levels that anyone can join. The competitive/drafted leagues go from 9-12U and they provide a level of play equivalent to single A travel, with the club teams playing at a AA level. It’s a great option to get a competitive level of baseball without the commitment. At 13U there’s no competitive option, so kids either can stay and play rec level or move to travel ball.
