“I played in Panthers growing up and loved it! We decided to try Panthers when it worked out for my daughter’s schedule as she does multiple activities. It is an all girls recreation league with girls coming mainly from Bolingbrook, Romeoville, and Plainfield. There are 3 levels based on grade but it is possible to move up to a higher level based on skill level. Practices are usually once a week for 1.5 hours and at either one of the Bolingbrook Park District locations (BRAC or Annerino). Games are usually Friday nights or Saturday morning for 1 hour at either locations. At the end of the season, there are Playoffs and the Final Championship game. For those players selected, there is also an All-Star game. My daughter loved it and wonder why she waited so long to join. She found great teammates and friends from the area that we see around town. This was a great stepping stone to helping her get on her school volleyball team. The Commissioner also supported the girls during the school volleyball season and showed up at many games. My daughter was able to learn the game as well as gain new skills. She went from underhand serving to eventually overhand serving by end of the season. The Commission noticed her level of play and improvement and recommended for her to move up a level next season, especially if she continues to play for school. This Commissioner step down from the role but the new one is just as great! There are also spring and winter clinic available outside the regular season that my daughter has joined to keep playing. We love the Panthers volleyball program and would recommend it! Pros: - Great Commissioners who run the program and are very supportive of the players on and off the court - Organized and great player development for beginners to even advanced - Great value $125 which included team shirt, hoodie (not sure if this happens ever year), and activities (Bolingbrook Pathway, End of The Season Celebration, and Fundraiser events) - Offers clinics during the off season - Team and Individual pictures offered - Stepping stone if wanting to play for middle school volleyball team Cons: - Don’t find out official practice and game schedule until after schools release gym availability and full schedule is finalized, which start mid September usually. - Teams can have players at different skill level from beginner to advanced but more advanced players can be recommended to the next level - Coaches are all volunteers with some having more experience than others ”
