USA Prime Travel Softball (12u–18u)

“Our overall experience was not great with USA Prime - Softball, considering this was our first year in travel softball. Facilities: As advertised, fees were supposed to include outdoor facility, which were extremely limited to 4-5 practices for the entire season (September 2025 - July 2026). Their indoor facility is not big enough to run "real game scenarios". Open gym was then limited due to the rental of the facilities to other organizations/schools. Coaching: 14U coaches were great for speed, agility, building stamina and basic fundamentals....but horrible for game strategy. ALL the girls could've had a fair chance on the field considering none of them stood out as above average softball players for this age group and division. However, their batting line up or the field positions were limited to the top "favorite" girls. Statistically speaking many changes could've been made to the batting line up and field positions if they didn't play favortism, instead they stuck to their "top 5-6 players" and didn't improve as a team. Every single player had multiple strike outs, misses balls / field errors, bad pitches, etc. However, not every player received the same bench time, the bottom half always got less playing time or no play at all if they made an honest mistake. Attitude or effort was the same amongs all players, if any, many girls attended most of the practices and were all very respectful to coaches (because they were scared, they would be punished with additional workouts if anyone missed practice last minute) and still saw less playing time. So trust me, this has nothing to do with respect or attitude from the girls. Do your research, watch GameChanger videos and standings, and make your own assessment. Fun: girls were not allowed to have walk-up songs, until the very end of the season. Not much of team bonding events. Communication: As a parent of an underage child, I still require open communication and I am also the source of income. We were not included in the decision for our nationals location, instead, they picked the location with the girls and said "Nashville was more fun than just going to a closer state like Iowa!" They should've done something more local or closer considering this was a first year team. No need to splurge just because! This organization has a long way to go and hopefully with the open communication parents had with coaches and organization leaders, they can make changes and truly focus on player development for ALL. I personally feel like I just spent money for my daughter to sit on the bench and lose confidence in the game! To be clear, we were asked to tryout and were offered a roster spot. So obviously, they saw potential in my kid, or maybe they just saw money to close the gap and their intentions were purely about the money? ”

“The 14U coaches are a joke. They will put your daughter in a position she doesn't/hasn't played before then they will pull her mid inning for not being fast enough or making an error but when one of the "team captains" or favorite kids does the exact same thing? They stay in. Infact, they never even sit games. They are a C level team continually competing against teams they have no business playing against and getting destroyed leaving the girls feeling terrible and then on top of it, they will take no responsibility and blame the girls. They are young and talk down to these girls who are at major transitional points in their lives (teenage girls, hormones, whatever). Then when there are terrible calls or parents/coaches on other teams saying nasty things, they wont go to bat for your daughter, they will just take it. They will not fight for your child so you are left to do it as a spectator and then look like the crazy one for defending them. I would highly recommend everyone stay away. ”

“Went to tryouts. What a joke. Very disorganized. The handful of girls got two pop ups and two grounds and timed their running. No hitting, no pitching or catching. Their excuse was that they did hitting at their last tryout. Don’t waste your time. ”
