“We love that it's a community-based club that can compete nationally but also offer great value for the younger and lower-level teams. The coaches seem to truly care about each player far more than just wins and losses, and they set a good example for them with their behavior, especially compared to how we've seen coaches from other clubs act. My daughter loves going to practices and has improved tremendously over the past few years. The only drawback is the lack of good facilities. Seven Gables is a great park, but fields don't get mowed often enough by the park district (grass too long), they get overused because of overall lack of space, and they are not lit for evening practices. Wheaton desperately need some turf fields like other comparable clubs have, as well as dedicated indoor space instead of throwing our money away to other clubs to rent space from them. If they can solve the facility issue, there's nothing stopping Wheaton United from being a top club in the Chicago area. ”
