“If you’re not from Huntley, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. Even if you are, you’ll need to make the big group of people in charge your new best friends for your kid to have a real chance. The parents freeze out outsiders and what’s really sad is it extends down to the girls who don’t seem to like the outsiders either.”
“No desire to develop players, want ready made. Host tryouts super early to cherry pick. No team bonding or fun. Click heavy. ”
“Fields and facilities are great. Coaching is positive and encouraging. You don't hear coaches screaming at children like some other organizations, it's just not in the culture. The huge drawback is that if you are not part of the large network of Huntley sports families who all hang out together and have multiple kids playing multiple sports together, your daughter will need to be twice as good to make the team, and near perfect to get any real playing time in the position she wants to play. It's like daddy ball, but so much worse because Huntley ball extends to so many kids. Not a bad place to have your daughter learn softball, but her opportunities there will most likely be very limited if your family isn't part of the in crowd. ”
